The weather has finally broken enough that we venture out for a check up visit with Dr. Cuite. It's -10 degrees, but no longer snowing and blowing. The motion of the car has my stomach flipping cartwheels. I spend most of the trip with my eyes closed. I pass all my eye exams, and am assured the bruising is normal and the swelling is actually less then expected. She would have liked to see my eye deeper in the socket yet, but feels that swelling still prevents it from seating exactly as it will soon in the future. All in all, everything looks better than before and is healing well.
And now, it's time to fix the right eye. You can't get just half a tattoo, can you? She's happy enough with my progress to move up the date of the 2nd surgery. I've got just a month to freak out this time. Monday, February 3. Deep breathes - I know what's coming this time. Not as much pain as I'd thought I'd have. Definitely I'll buy more Tylenol, though! Perhaps more help from family? They thought I'd ask for help if I needed it. I don't. I'll just figure out how to do it myself and then suffer later. I think I'll make a pack for Amos to carry with water bottles, Tylenol and Kleenex. He checks on me.
